Do you ever feel uninspired about meal planning? Oof, I’m feeling it this week. As much as I want to be a source of inspiration in this space, sometimes life is rough and I want to talk about that too.

I’m in the middle of another digestive flare up and the energy it takes to make bland food for myself and interesting food for Nick and the kids has me a little daunted.
Here’s how I’m going to tackle the overwhelm and ease the burden a bit:
- Rely on our favorite meals list. I have seven meals we love, and in times of craziness we don’t mind eating these on repeat. (There is some variation depending on what veggies I have on hand and how I flavor things that day). But it’s a dependable list that has gotten us through newborn days, moves, grad school, and health issues.
- Batch cook 3 bone broth soups for myself so I can reheat and go. This will help with the two-dinners-every-night mayhem.
- Remember the thread of grace that carries me through each day, sewing my moments together in gentleness. A friend gave me this image this week when I shared how I feel like I’m holding so much right now. It’s good to breathe deep.
- This beautiful produce from our Misfits Market low waste veg box makes me smile. Seeing it all on my counter and fridge helps up the inspiration just a tad. I am so grateful to be able to afford this much organic produce in our weekly shop. Definitely was not possible previously, and I appreciate every flavorful veggie and fruit.
